Biography
Born in 1963, Philippe kissed the profession of artist-painter ten years ago after having been an executive in a company.
The painting imposed itself on the artist by watching an episode in the life of Coco Chanel. He photographed close-ups of the actress's face. The next day, he bought a 40 x 40 canvas and made his first acrylic portrait.
Self-taught, and already very young, he drew a lot. Her attraction was to surrealist and impressionist painters and especially Vincent Van Gogh who amazed her when he traveled his parents' encyclopedia.
He married the profession of artist-painter, trained in still life and then in plastic art at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon. Colorist and naturally inclined towards abstraction, it is on the path of work and perseverance that he becomes aware of his propensity to deconstruct reality.
Guitarist, his painting is rhythmic, it has energy. His canvases are very variegated and contrasting. They are revealed in the gesture, in the movement in the present, giving priority to his creativity.
Harmonize color areas, the structured, determining lines of force, constantly daring, researching, questioning oneself so as not to lock oneself into a straitjacket from which it is difficult to extricate oneself constitute his artistic approach. This transcendent creative alchemy will be accompanied by music.
Color harmony is the cornerstone of his artistic approach, otherwise the canvas will remain in the studio. Flirting on the border between the real and the immaterial defines a line of work cultivated every day. His influences can be found in the Impressionists, the painters of Lyrical Abstraction, American Abstract Expressionism...
The artist realizes himself in the work, in the passion for his job. He knows that one day notoriety will be there, rewarding his talent, his efforts, his sacrifices.
